Cheonggyecheon Stream (청계천)

Cheonggyecheon is a lovely urban stream that winds its way through the heart of Seoul, where the past and present seem to coexist harmoniously. Following restoration in 2005, Cheonggyecheon has become a popular place for Seoul residents to relax, as well as a highly regarded attraction for international tourists. Cheonggyecheon has a long and distinguished history. During the Joseon Dynasty, it served as a vital water supply, and later, the stream was reclaimed for urban development. However, thanks to a restoration project, the stream has been brought back to life and is now one of Seoul’s most iconic tourist attractions.
